This study was conducted on two cases, aged 29 and 36 years, at the Mother and child Institution in the wilaya of Ain Témouchent, as well as at Belhadj Bouchaib University. The clinical approach was adopted, using its most important tools, namely : clinical observation, the semi-structured clinical interview, the Beck Depression Inventory, the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale, and the Bobigny Interaction Assessment Grid. The present study confirmed all the hypotheses for both cases, thus reaching the most important conclusion : postpartum depression does indeed negatively affect the mother-infant relationship in all aspects- emotional, affective, and even physical.
