Abstract: | In view of the increase in international crimes and the face of their devastating danger that followed the human being in his presence, a permanent international criminal court was established, Which was considered as a step towards achieving international criminal justice, by realizing the idea of criminal punishment and pursuing the accused by implementing the principle of non-impunity, This gave the victim the largest guarantee, protection and recognition of the rights they enjoy under the Rome Statute, procedural rules and evidentiary rules, where victims benefit from reparation for serious violations that affect them and their participation in the judicial process and their representation by lawyers to defend their interests throughout the trial. The court also plays an important role in taking measures to protect victims during the trial period The interest in this category was through the establishment of a section related to victims and witnesses, which enabled victims to overcome psychological crises and trauma. |
