Collective agreements are considered a framework for consultation and cooperation between employers and workers' unions, usually culminating in a collective agreement on the regulations and conditions governing work. This is stipulated by Algerian legislator in Chapter Six of Law (90-11) concerning labor relations. Therefore, collective agreements are regarded as the best means that have proven effective in establishing labor relations based on mutual understanding and respect. They are a new mechanism in Algerian labor legislation, introduced as a tool to develop and modernize labor laws to be more realistic and aligned with economic and social development. They are characterized by flexibility and a quick response to this development, and are more acceptable since they result from negotiation and consultation between the parties involved in the labor relationship. The aim is to contribute to the stability of labor relations by organizing the terms and conditions of work, in addition to preventing labor disputes and establishing mechanisms to resolve them promptly, in accordance with Law (90-02) concerning the resolution of collective disputes and the exercise of the right to strike.en_US
