Abstract: In this study, an overview of functionally graded materials (FGM) was provided, where the first shear deformation theory (FSDT) was used to study the effect of porosity distribution and gradient pattern on the free vibration behavior of functionally graded material plates. The Hamilton’s principle was used to derive the motion equations for functionally graded materials plates, using the Navier method for the solution. Through comparison of data from different examples, the accuracy and reliability of the proposed analytical solution were verified. Comparative analysis was also conducted including key parameters obtained in this study
