Abstract: | This study aims to research the issue of foreign direct investment and highlight the role it plays in supporting economic growth in developing countries by applying to the case of Algeria during the period 1999-2018, and for this purpose the research was divided into two chapters, a theoretical chapter and an applied chapter, where the first chapter presented the basic concepts of investment Foreign direct and the determinants of its attractiveness in developing countries. In the second chapter, the situation of Algeria in some international indicators was discussed, most notably: the ease of doing business index, the economic freedom index and the global investment index. The most important legal and administrative obstacles that impede the flow of foreign direct investment outside the hydrocarbon sector in Algeria, as well as proposing a set of solutions to these obstacles. The study reached a set of results, the most important of which are: Among the most important obstacles facing foreign direct investment: the establishment of the rule of 49/51% in all sectors, the application of the right of pre-emption, in addition to bureaucracy and administrative complications. |
