This work concerns the preparation of palladium /calcium oxide nanocomposites. In the first step, the material CaO NPs was prepared using eggs shells as biological source. the PdNPs were also prepared using leaf extract of Lawsonia innermis as a reducer and encapsulated by a calcium oxide matrix. The composite CaO@Pd were used as catalysts to reduce MB dyes by sodium borohydride (NaBH4 in a simple system. Several parameters affecting the reduction reaction were investigated, such as the effect of the concentration of NaBH4, catalyst mass, and initial concentration of dye. FE-SEM and TEM were used to characterize these nanoparticles. The CaO and CaOPdNps nanocomposite analysis show that the Pd nanoparticles incorporated into the CaO matrix are spherical, with an average size of 5 to 20 nm, and the CaO-PdNps have an irregular and rough surface. Furthermore, this may be related to the presence of Pd nanoparticles, and the obtained results showed that these catalysts have engaging catalytic activities toward the reduction of MB dye.en_US
