Biological process was developed for the preparation of the ZnO nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) employing mentha spicata aqueous leaf extract as a mild, renewable and biological reducing agent and efficient stabilizer without using toxic chemicals. This green approach of biosynthesis appears to be cost efficient and easy alternative to conventional physical and chemical methods of ZnO NPs synthesis. Theas prepared ZnO NPs presented excellent catalytic activity for the degradation of Methylene blue dye (MB), they were able to degrade concentrated MB dye with over 90% decolourisation in only 30 min at room temperatureen_US
