Surfactants are widely used in liquid-liquid extraction procedures to fix the metal cation, usually a heavy metal. TA was therefore regenerated with electrodialysis using the cation exchange membrane (Nfion117). Indeed, in order to achieve this regeneration, we experienced difficulty in the massive transfer of proton through this cation exchange membrane. This proton transport through the membrane was explained by the electrochemical characterization of the membrane (I-V voltamperometric curves and Hittorf transport number). The results obtained confirm this observation mainly in acid. Nevertheless, the regeneration of the two surfactants Triton x 100 and sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) is qualitatively possible.en_US
