The pancreas is an important organ in the proper functioning of the human body. It is mainly involved in the regulation of blood sugar for the endocrine part and in the secretion of pancreatic juice necessary for digestion for the exocrine part. Diabetes is a serious chronic disease that occurs when the pancreas does not make enough insulin, or when the body is unable to use the insulin it does properly. In this dissertation, we look at type 2 diabetes, where the pancreas still produces insulin, and where herbal remedies provide benefits in the management of the disease. The hospital is a place where people are treated, but it is also a place where one can contract infectious diseases: these are infections linked to treatment, they are responsible for extending the length of stay. The overall frequency of HAIs is urinary tract infections, surgical site infections, and respiratory infections. These infections are caused by opportunistic germs that are often resistant to antibiotics and persist on surfaces, representing a constant source of risk of infection in the hospital setting.en_US
