The numerical simulation of the performance of a radial or semi-axial turbine in an stationary mode is indispensable when designing this type of machine when it comes to supercharging a reciprocating internal combustion engine with a turbocharger. In this case, the turbine is subjected to a pulsed flow. In order to study the influence of pulsed flow, it was first necessary to develop a calculation code for the determination of turbine performance in a steady-state. The operation in pulsed mode was simulated by the finite volume method using the FORTRAN program to solve the one-dimensional and instantaneous flow in the turbine. A comparison with experimental results was establisheden_US
