Abstract

The study aimed to identify the relationship between quality of life and self-esteem among students of Belhaj Bouchaib University in the wilaya of Ain Temouchent (Algeria), as well as to identify individual background variables affecting both quality of life and self-esteem represented in gender, age, specialization, and educational level, by following the descriptive analytical approach due to its suitability to the nature of the subject of the study, where two measures were applied: Quality of Life Scale (Mansi and Kazim) and Self-Esteem Scale (Cooper Smith), on a sample of 174 male and female students from the university, and the study reached the following results: - High quality of life among students of Belhaj Bouchaib University in Ain Temouchent. - High level of self-esteem among students of Belhaj Bouchaib University in Ain Temouchent. - The existence of a statistically significant correlation between quality of life and self-esteem among students of Belhaj Bouchaib University in Ain Temouchent. ح - There were no statistically significant differences in the quality of life according to the age variable among the students of Belhaj Bouchaib University in Ain Temouchent. - There were no statistically significant differences in the quality of life according to the gender variable among students of Belhaj Bouchaib University in Ain Temouchent. - There were no statistically significant differences in the quality of life according to the specialization variable among students of Belhaj Bouchaib University in Ain Temouchent. - There were no statistically significant differences in the quality of life according to the variable of the educational level of the university students of Belhaj Bouchaib Ain Temouchent. - There were no statistically significant differences in self-esteem according to the age variable among students of Belhaj Bouchaib University in Ain Temouchent. - There were no statistically significant differences in self-esteem according to the gender variable among students of Belhaj Bouchaib University in Ain Temouchent. - There were no statistically significant differences in self-esteem according to the specialization variable among students of Belhaj Bouchaib University in Ain Temouchent. - The existence of statistically significant differences in self-esteem according to the variable of academic level among students of the University of Belhaj Bouchaib in Ain Temouchent. The results were discussed in the light of the theoretical literature and previous studies and a set of recommendations were proposed.
