This study aimed to know the apparent function and the latent function of trade union action by studying a sample of workers involved in the trade union branch of the common wires of the General Union of Algerian Workers at Ain Temouchent University, based on the interview technique, where we used the descriptive approach in its part related to the case study, the historical approach and the field approach. Accordingly, our question centered as follows: Is the trade union organization satisfied with its declared function, represented by the professional job, or does it exercise a hidden function represented by the political function, and does this attraction between the declared and the hidden of the trade union affect the arrangement and rearrangement of power relations within the institution? As for the approved hypotheses, we used a basic hypothesis divided into sub-hypotheses, which are as follows: 117 Basic premise: - The trade union organization is not satisfied with its declared function, which is represented in the professional function, but rather it exercises a hidden function that is represented in the political function. This attraction between the declared and the hidden in the trade union function affects the arrangement and rearrangement of power relations within the institution. Sub-hypotheses: - There is an apparent and declared function of trade union action, which is determined by defending the interests of workers. - There is a latent function for the trade union organization that goes beyond the traditional professional and demanding roles of the trade union, to reach the political roles. Based on the hypotheses, this study concluded that there is an apparent function of trade union action embodied in the professional function that aims to defend workers, and there is a latent function that is defined in political roles.en_US
