The work we have presented objective is to study, calculating the backwater curves for gradually varied free-surface flows in rectangular channels of non-uniform profile with the use of mathematical and graphical methods, which allow to trace the water line to various sections, and specify the general appearance of the different forms of the water surface. The proposal has many advantages and disadvantages, the role being the knowledge of the construction works on the water level upstream and downstream passage of a flood (water and torrential) to assess and prevent risks flooding. After defining the modeling resolution, we need to apply the characteristics of non- prismatic channels. This project presents a mathematical and numerical calculation study (graphical method) with different sections chosen, since it is shorter and less complicated than other methods.en_US
