Kidney diseases, including chronic renal failure, have become a major public health problem in the world, and more particularly in Algeria, in recent decades. It is often caused by a pathological history such as: diabetes and hypertension. The aim of our study is to determine the prevalence of nephropathologies treated by dialysis in patients hospitalized in the nephrology department of the Ahmed Medaghri EPH in Ain Temouchent through the census of their information and secondly to verify the effectiveness and usefulness of hemodialysis as a renal replacement treatment, in patients with end-stage chronic renal failure by exploring certain biochemical parameters. Our study focused on 50 hemodialysis patients, including 20 women and 30 men with an average age of 43 years. We noted an increase in urea and creatinine, which are important parameters in the case of CKD for effective management. In addition, the ionogram was normal with a natremia (140 mmol/l) and a potassium (5.21 mmol/l). We recorded a deficiency in hemoglobin level (10.15 g/dl) and hematocrit level (31%). Also a decrease in cholesterol (1.34 g/l) and triglyceride (0.95 g/l) as well as normal blood glucose (1 g/l) were observed. The poor control of the lifestyle as well as the lack of knowledge of the importance of the diet are responsible for the disruption of the state of health of people on hemodialysis.en_US
