Abstract: Cardiovascular diseases encompass a range of disorders affecting the heart and blood vessels. They represent one of the leading causes of death worldwide, often attributed to the presence of multiple risk factors. The objective of our study is to demonstrate the importance of biochemical parameters (blood glucose, triglycerides, cholesterol, urea, creatinine and albumin) in cardiovascular diseases, and to determine and estimate cardiovascular risk factors. For this purpose, a study was conducted on 20 healthy control subjects and 20 subjects diagnosed with CVD, recruited from the cardiology department of Dr. BENZARDJEB Hospital in Ain Témouchent. Our results indicate a significant disturbance in metabolism characterized by an increase in all the biochemical parameters we measured, except for albumin, and a decrease in HDL-C levels among the affected subjects compared to the controls. Our questionnaire revealed that diabetes, hypertension, tobacco use, and obesity are prevalent factors in cardiovascular diseases. In conclusion, our findings lead us to conclude that cardiovascular diseases are associated with alterations in biochemical parameters.
