Abstract: The study pertains to nosocomial infections contracted within a hospital environment, which can serve as a significant etiology of morbidity and mortality among hospitalized patients. The objective of this investigation was to ascertain the bacterial etiological agents implicated in these infections by means of their isolation from diverse sources including medical instruments, patients, the ambient air within the operating theater, and the dialysis unit. Various methodologies were employed to isolate, purify, and preliminarily characterize the microbial isolates, encompassing phenotypic traits and conventional biochemical assays. Bacteriological analyses unveiled a pronounced diversity of species, encompassing a total of eight (08) identified bacterial species originating from 21 clinical specimens. Noteworthy among these species were Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Bacillus spp, Pseudomonas spp, Escherichia coli, Enterobacter agglomerans, Klebsiella Kp subsp orrenae, and Klebsiella subsp rhioseleronatise. The antimicrobial susceptibility profiling results showcased considerable heterogeneity in the response patterns of the bacterial isolates to the panel of tested antibiotics, with discernible variations noted particularly in relation to Erythromycin, Gentamicin, Cefixime, Amoxiclav, Azithromycin, and Amoxicillin.
