Our work focuses on the white and golden varieties onion of Oulhaça region, which aims to study the morphometric parameters of the cultivation of local variety onions, and the impact of rainfed and irrigated management as well as the current climatic conditions on the development of these crops. The objective of our study was made in the field. Three “plots”named asstations for the cultivation of white and golden onions varieties conducted in rainfed and irrigated conditions at El Gherraba Oulhaça Wilaya Ain Temouchent. We carried out morphometric measurements such as the length of the plant, the leaves, and the roots. This analysis also allowed us to determine the variability of the size, shape and diameter of the bulb, as well as to assess the impact of environmental conditions of growth and development of the onion and the production systems undertaken by the producers in the study area. Our study was interested in the infestation of different weeds at the three stations which were collected to identify the different types of weed in the laboratory to make herbarium. We carried out the identification in the laboratory on samples of pest foundat station N° 03 “plots” the golden onion crop grown in rainfed conditions. The results found highlighted the impact of the ancestral production system of onion cultivation of the two varieties under water stress and its effect on phytosanitary protection. Our results can be used as solution to the constraints met by producers in order to improve the yield and quality of onion production in the Oulhaça region.en_US
