Abstract: Urinary tract infections are the most frequent infections in human population and it constitute the major public health problem. It exists four types of urinary tract infections: cystitis, urethritis, prostatia and pyelonephritis. In this work, we have made a cytological and bacteriological examination on urine samples from the patients, the urine cytobacteriological study (ECBU) involved eighty-eight (88) urine samples, from different ages and both sexes. Among 88 samples, 45 were negative, 32 fulfilled the positivity criterion and only 11 were contaminated. According to the first results, urinary tract infections were more important in women (59.37%) compared to men (40.63%). This study shows that the majority of infections are caused by enterobacteria (81%). At the top of the list, we find Escherichia coli (53, 12%) followed by Enterobacter sp (28, 12%), staphylococcus aureus (12, 5%) and p.aeruginosa (6, 26%) The antibiogram results of these responsible urinary infection germs indicate the most importance significant resistance to amoxicillin, penicillin and erythromycin.
