dc.description.abstract | Acanthus spinosus is a very common medicinal plant used in the Mediterranean region for its various therapeutic virtues such as anti-inflammatory. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the antioxidant activity of some extracts and extractin of fatty acids and unsaponifiable substances. Phytochemical tests were performed to detect tocopherols, sterols and terpenes Quantitative estimation of total phenolic compounds using the FolinCiocalteu method showed that ethanolic extracts of Acanthus spinosus are rich in polyphenol. The antioxidant properties using two tests show that the antioxidant activity of the ethanolic extract is the most interesting. The order of the trend of extracts to reduce DPPH free radicals is as follows: ethanolic extract (IC50= 0.0286 mg/ml), and the results obtained by the FRAP method confirm the important antioxidant potential of acanthus spinosus extracts have a good affinity with Fe3+ ions. | en_US |
