dc.description.abstractReading skills and the act of reading are fundamental pillars in educational discourse, especially at the elementary level. Here, we examine the impact of these skills in the second grade as a model. The Impact of Reading Skills in Educational Discourse: Linguistic Capacity Development: Reading enhances learners' vocabulary, improving their expressive and comprehension abilities. _Reading Comprehension Improvement: Continuous reading develops learners' reading comprehension skills, enabling them to understand and analyze various texts. -Critical Thinking Development: Reading allows learners to think critically about text content, enhancing their logical and organized thinking. -Encouraging Curiosity and Inquiry: Reading opens new horizons for learners, encouraging exploration and the pursuit of knowledge The Impact of Reading on Educational Discourse: -Academic Achievement Enhancement: Learners who dedicate time to reading often show better academic performance due to a broader knowledge base. -Social and Emotional Skills Development: Reading helps develop empathy and understanding as learners are exposed to various human experiences through stories. - Improving Concentration and Attention: Allocating time for reading helps learners improve their focus and attention span. -Creativity and Imagination Development: Reading stimulates learners' imagination and helps develop creative thinking and problem-solving skills. In the second grade, learners are at a crucial stage in their educational development. Reading can have the most significant impact for the following reasons: - Improving Reading Fluency:Learners at this age need to enhance their reading fluency, and reading provides them with engaging ways to practice. - Developing Basic Reading Skills:Skills like distinguishing sounds, understanding sentence structure, and using punctuation are critical at this stage. - Building Reading Habits:Early daily reading habits can foster lifelong reading practices. Reading plays a pivotal role in educational discourse, particularly in the second grade.
