Abstract: The study in this research aims to reveal the origins of the novel, whether in the West or the Arabs in general, or in Algeria in particular, where, by highlighting some of the contributions of novelists in rooting this art, we find our novelist Abdel Malik Mortad was one of the first to produce many works in this regard. Some of them were limited to recording the heroism of the Algerian nation and its exploits during the period of French colonialism, as it is a demonstration of the strength and cohesion of this people as a people capable of achieving victory regardless of the tyranny and tyranny of the other. Rather, it is a fact confirmed by the rhetorical text “Blood and Tears,” which required us to extrapolate it and analyze its semantic components. In that, we referred to the effectiveness of this science by mentioning its nature and origins, and highlighting most of the efforts of ancient and modern linguists in producing it and understanding its rules. This prompted us to take stock of all its relationships and extract them from this text, so we conclude that without this science, language would be abstract and empty. From a sense of feeling, as this added a special aesthetic in which it depicted the lived reality in all its situations.
