The aim of the study was to explore the relationship between smoking and diet, by examining tobacco consumption among the population of the Ain Temouchent region, their nutritional behavior and the effect of smoking on smokers' health. To this end, data were collected from a survey with a total of 151 respondents. The results revealed that the percentage of male smokers was much higher than that of female smokers, with a daily tobacco consumption of 55.6%. The majority of smokers started smoking because of their environment, with less healthy eating habits, often consuming too much coffee, foods rich in calories, fat and added sugars, fruit and vegetables. As far as health is concerned, the majority of smokers (90.1%) recognize that smoking can lead to death, because they are aware that it causes numerous illnesses and present an increased risk of developing various diseases.en_US
