Abstract: Sponsorship in Algerian family law is a legal system derived from Islamic law, under which a person or family undertakes to care for a minor child with whom they have no blood relationship, providing basic needs such as food, education and shelter. regulated by articles 116 to 125 of the Family Code, and the sponsor must have the legal and financial capacity, and a good reputation, sponsorship is carried out through legal procedures which include filing an application to court and a social investigation, and ends when the child reaches the age of majority or the disappearance of the reasons which require it, or by a judicial decision in the event of failure of the sponsor to fulfill his obligations, which strengthens the protection of rights and best interests of the child.
