This article offers a brief reflection on the power of the word and its use in writing in Assia Djebar’s La femme sans sépulture . We will see that the author chooses the path of writing to build a burial to her heroine who disappeared during the war of revolution. By giving voice to her female characters, she allows them to tell their pain and exhume their suffering. Thus, the therapeutic power of this word turns out to be a true catharsis for the protagonists traumatized by the silence and the inability to mourn the disappeared.en_US
