Abstract: | The teaching of deaf pupils in Algeria, particularly in Ain Temouchent, is a topic that is shrouded in a veil of mystery and obscurity. Hearing-impaired pupils are among the most sensible members of society, as they face unique challenges in communication and access to information, making it crucial to provide them with the necessary resources and assistance to foster their academic and personal growth. Despite the authorities' efforts, there is still a lack of comprehensive education for hearing-impaired pupils, from primary schools to the university level. The objective of this investigation is to understand the current situation of teaching sign language to deaf children and to raise awareness of its importance. To address the challenges faced by deaf pupils, our investigation offers solutions and recommendations such as developing a comprehensive curriculum, providing teacher training, increasing access to educational institutions, promoting the use of sign language in the community, providing resources from books and dictionaries, and involving the authorities. By implementing these measures, we can ensure that deaf students receive a comprehensive education that equips them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed. |
