In recent years, there has been growing interest and concern about the formation of biofilm in dental units’ instruments and water pipes. Dental unit water lines are an ideal growth medium for bacteria from the municipal water system. The development of germs in the water supply networks of dental units is accelerated by the contamination of reflux saliva or blood from patients, an ideal temperature for the growth of bacteria, and the high surface/volume ratio of water pipes. The objective of this work is the detection of the presence of bacterial strains at the internal walls of the water pipes of the dental unit Al-Sabbah Ain Temouchent, and the ability of certain strains to from a biofilm by TCP. 5 samples were collected; in the results reveal the presence of a good number of microorganisms with domina of enterobacteria of water origin followed by 10 cocci Gram positive of oral origin. Results confirm that bacterial strains such as Staphylococcus from the oral cavity of patients and water-borne enterobacteriaceae are the main cause of staff and patient-related infections.en_US
