Abstract: Our ethnobotanical survey was conducted with 31 diabetic patients hospitalized at the Benzerdjeb Hospital in Ain Temouchent with the aim of the frequency of the use of medicinal plants in the traditional treatment of diabetes. Based on our first study, our results showed that men are more likely to develop diabetes than women and we also saw an increase in the number of type 2 diabetes compared to type 1 and the majority of patients were over the age of 60. At the end of this work and according to the information gathered, we also recorded a frequency of 19% of diabetics who use herbal medicine. Similarly, we have identified 5 medicinal plants belonging to 5 families that are: Olea europaea L, Trigonella foenum- graecum L, Allium cepa L, Cinnamomum zeylanicum and Nigella sativa. Grains are the most used part of the plant, while the most common methods of use in phytotherapetic treatment are infusion or raw. In the light of this research medicinal plants remain a complementary treatment of modern medical.
