Abstract: In this memoir of end studies we have to study a project of a water tower of capacity 500m3 in the object to satisfy the requirements out of water for the area for Ouled EL-kihel (Wilaya d'Ain tèmouchent). At first, an over view about water towers and the different approaches available in the literature for the calculation of hydrodynamic pressures and their point of application were conducted. After we chose Houzner way to calculate water reservoirs because of its simplicity to represent the hydrodynamic effect of water on the tank Finally, a numerical finite element method modeling using the code SAP2000 was adopted with the aim of determining the internal stress that develops in different parts of the water tower and thus calculates the reinforcement needed to balance these efforts. The Auto CAD graphics code was used for the design of reinforcement.
