Abstract: The use of plants extract as the production assembly of silver nanoparticles has drawn attention, because of its rapid, eco-friendly, non-pathogenic, economical protocol. this work is to study the possibility of synthesis of silver nanoparticles using aqueous extract of Retama Raetam and characterized using UV visible, FTIR, to determine their size and their composition. This study has also revealed the antioxidant activity of Ag NPs followed the 2,2-diphényl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging assay (DPPH·) and evaluated in vitro their antimicrobial effect using Agar well diffusion method. Our results of characterization showed that the silver nanoparticles were synthesized successfully and present surface plasmon resonance, as well as the stabilization of the ions Ag to nanometric particles of spherical form with different diameter which confirmed by spectroscopy FTIR. Another side, the silver nanoparticles synthesized were shown a very effective bactericidal effect against the three types of the bacteria (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus) and a reasonable antioxydant properties. The sum of the results obtained during this study shows clearly that the silver nanoparticles has a significant biological. So the bio-ingredients present in the plant extract was effective for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles with a biological effectiveness which makes it possible to incorporate it in the composition of the foodstuffs and medicinal.
