dc.description.abstract | The study carried out aims at the morpho-biometric description and identification of varieties of almond trees in the AinTémouchent region, based on quantitative and qualitative morphological parameters. Samples are processed by ImageJ software, for precise calculation of quantitative traits followed by statistical analysis using SPSS software. The results of Principal Component Analysis (PCA) allowed the distinction of three groups. The first factor that discriminates between varieties is the size of the leaf and then the color. The approach used in this study for the statistical analysis of qualitative and quantitative morphological data facilitated the task of distinguishing the three varieties from a well-defined group based on the traits most discriminating to identify on both qualitative and quantitative variables. The morpho-biometric description and the identification of the varieties must be approved by the molecular tool and therefore this work is considered as a starting point towards the improvement of the almond tree in our region. | en_US |
