Abstract: Origanum majorana is a plant which belongs to the family of lamiacées. It is a medicinal plant used in the traditional medicine in Algeria to handle diverse diseases. The various parts of this plants (roots, sheets, stalks..) subjected to an extraction sélective with various solvents (ether of pétrol, DMC, ethanol and the water) using an assembly of soxhlet. The realized phytochemical tests allowed to detect tannins, saponosides and alkaloids . The evaluation of antioxidant power of the extract of the Arian part (party) was also envisaged by two methds radical DPPH, the reducer of the iron (FRAP). The realized phytochemical tests allowed to detect tannins, saponosides and alkaloids The antioxidizing properties using two tests reveal that the antioxidizing activity of the aqueous extract is the most interesting.
