Authors: Berrichi Meriem

Issue Date: 2023
Abstract: Water pollution caused by caffeine is a concerning issue that requires effective treatment methods. This study focuses on the adsorption of caffeine by activated carbon and olive stone. The literature review highlights the sources of contamination, adverse effects, and existing treatment methods, emphasizing adsorption as a promising approach. The experimental methodology describes the sample preparation, conditions, and techniques used to evaluate the adsorption efficiency. The results and discussion demonstrate that activated carbon exhibits a strong capacity for caffeine adsorption, confirming its effectiveness as a water purification agent. Olive stone also shows some adsorption capacity, although less efficient than activated carbon. These findings pave the way for further advancements in the field of contaminated water treatment, contributing to the preservation of water quality and environmental protection.
