Abstract: Collective food-borne illnesses (CFBI) is an accumulation of transitional diseases that gives rise a real public health problem. Due to its ability to spread to multiple individuals. Bacteria, viruses, parasites or fungi that contaminate food or water usually cause collective food poisoning. With the objective of inquiring the epidemiological situation of collective food poisoning that takes place in the wilaya of AinTémouchent, we conducted a five-year retrospective study from 2017 to 2021 based on the analysis of the data we collected from the Public Health Directorate of the wilaya of AinTémouchent. The evolution of collective food poisoning over the study period reveals fluctuations in a number of cases for each year, the highest value was recorded in 2019 with 161 cases. The number of cases of both sexes was close with a dominance of the female sex (268 cases or 58%). In terms of the number of cases by age, the most affected age group was 5 to 9 years (62 cases) followed by individuals aged 10 to 14 years with 58 cases. It is important and necessary to strengthen awareness-raising efforts in order to improve the level of consciousness of the population that consequently leads to the good respect of the rules of hygiene in addition to a constant following of prevention tips that limits and prevents Collective food-borne.
