In this study, a comparison of the physicochemical and biological characteristics of treated water leaving the effluent treatment plant "unit 27" and those of the make-up water currently fed to the boilers from the desalination plant " KAHRAMA "to the water quality standards required for reuse in the production of steam have been carried out. The following conclusions emerge: * The quality of treated water at Unit 27 meets Algerian standards for industrial discharges * The physicochemical and biological characteristics of these purified water meet the quality required by the water reuse standard as a booster in steam production circuits. * An economic evaluation was conducted to determine the gain achieved after the recycling operation of this significant amount of treated water which is of the order of 3000 m3 / d, costing about 120 million dinars annually with a low investment cost of 6.3 million dinarsen_US
