D has applications in various fields such as traceability, medical monitoring of the state of a passion, production control, etc. The research work presented in this final year project focuses on the design of a RFID reader antenna in the near and far field. Based on the state of the art on this technology and the classical methodologies of antenna design, a new design method has been developed to improve the performance of the antenna. In the first structure, we proposed a new geometry of segmented loop antenna operates at the frequency 866 MHZ; the objective was to make a comparative study between our results and the results obtained in the thesis of Mr Diaki. For the second structure we proposed a new patch antenna geometry, some techniques are applied to adapt these antennas to the resonant frequency (2.4 and 5.8 GHZ). For each antenna, we optimized its geometry and dimensions by performing several simulations with the CST software in order to determine the antenna parameters that most influence its performance. The performance of these antennas is also evaluated by means of reflection coefficients, 2D and 3D radiation patterns and gain representationsen_US
