Abstract: The current study aimed to find out the extent to which there is a relationship between cultural background and psychotherapy, and try to detect the most common psychotherapy among the sample members, and to know the level of cultural background among university students, and our study also deliberately found statistically significant differences in the cultural background in light of some variables (gender and specialization), and also try to find statistically significant differences in psychotherapy according to the same variables, and the study sample included (260) male and female students enrolled at all levels at Belhaj University Bouchaib in the wilaya of AinTemouchent (Algeria), were selected by regular randomization where we used the cultural background scale and the psychotherapeutic scale of Sidi Abed Abdelkader (2017), after recalculating the psychometric properties of both scales. After statistical treatment, the results resulted in a statistically significant relationship between cultural background and treatment among university students, and the results indicated that modern psychotherapy is the most common among university students. similarly, an absence of significant differences is observed on the one hand for the cultural context, and on the other hand for psychotherapy due to the variable of gender and specialization.
