The aim of this work is to analyse the dynamic behavior (modal behavior) of a dam whose the geometry is inspired from that of "El Mefrouche" multi-arch dam. The finite element code "Ansys" is chosen for the dynamic modeling of the dam object of the present study. Three approaches have been assumed for soil-structure interaction modeling; model with fixed base, Model with foundation without mass and Model with foundation with mass. For fluid-structure interaction modeling, the added masses approach is used, this is ensured by the use of the SURF 154 element available in the "Ansys" library. Comparison between results of different models was made to understand the soil –structure interaction and the soil-fluid interaction on the dam modal behavior.en_US
