Abstract: The region of Ain Témouchent (North West of Algeria), characterized by a semi-arid climate, the use of irrigation is inevitable for most crops. Groundwater is increasingly solicited. They are an important source of drinking water and irrigation water. The supply of water to plants is generally provided by well water and drilling. The aim of our work is to determine the water quality of some wells in the study area in reference to national standards of irrigation water. To do this, we selected three wells located in 3 different farms and previously with physico-chemical analysis. The sodium adsorption ratio (SAR) which is a water salinity indicator has enabled us to qualify well water for agricultural use. The results allow us to say that salinity levels observed in the studied water wells are below the threshold determined by FAO and therefore irrigation from wells studied can be performed safely in 3 farms.
