The present work is a synthetic study which consists in evaluating the degree of metal pollution in two species of marine algae Ulva lactuca (green algae) and Halopteris scoparia (brown algae) in the beach and the port of Bouzedjar of the wilaya of Ain Temouchent during the period of January and May 2022. The samples underwent mineralization, then analysis by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS). In this study, the results obtained reveal the presence of heavy metals (Zn, Cd, Pb and Cu) in the two species of algae (green and brown) found in the two stations: the beach and the port of Bouzedjar. The results of this study suggest that the algae of the Bouzedjar port station are relatively more contaminated by heavy metals with high concentrations compared to the Bouzedjar beach station. Our synthesis confirms that the coast of the extreme West of Algeria is seriously disturbed by various domestic, port, industrial and agricultural discharges.en_US
