Recently, great attention is given to medicinal plants because of the demonstrated therapeutic properties. This work focuses on the phytochemical study and the antioxidant activity of extracts from the plant Myrtuscommunis L, which belongs to the Myrtaceae family. Known as (Rayhan, Mersin, A'as, Halmouche).Based on studies carried out on the methanolic extracts of the fruits and leaves of Myrtus communis L. Phytochemical tests have shown that this plant is highly rich in total and gallic tannins, leucoanthocyanins, coumarins, saponins, polyphenols, reducing sugars and glucosides. On the other hand, flavonoids and alkaloids were moderately present, with a very good antioxidant activity that largely exceeded the threshold marked by quercetin, α tocopherol or ascorbic aciden_US
