dc.description.abstractThe present study concerns the evaluation of the in vitro antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity of the essential oil of Foeniculum vulgare Mill seeds, a medicinal aromatic species belonging to the family Apiaceae. The method for the reduction of the radical DPPH• indicates that the essential oil of F.vulgare seeds has an antioxidant activity with an IC50of 3220μg/ml. In addition, the anti-inflammatory activity studied using the method of membrane stabilization of erythrocytes, showed an interesting anti-inflammatory capacity of our essential oil, which was with some concentrations larger than salicylic acid activity.en_US
