Abstract: The current era of technological revolution has witnessed a tremendous progress in the field of information technology. Indeed, because of the rapid growth of technology, new innovations have been introduced in education. Though numerous technological devices that have been implemented in teaching in order to facilitate teaching, make it interesting and productive and serve learners’ needs. Yet, in Algeria teaching still relies on traditional methods. Accordingly, the researcher tends to find out how the use of ICTs can help in improving learners’ speaking ability and to what extent the use of ICTs would increase learners’ motivation and creation. The present research aims to investigate the role of integrating technology in English teaching and learning particularly teaching the speaking skill in EFL classes. To carry out this work, a case study has been conducted in the department of letters and English language in the university centre of Belhadj Bouchaib of Ain Temouchent, where first year and oral expression teachers were selected as a sample. Two questionnaires were designed to the students and the teachers as the main research instruments. The data collected were analysed quantitatively. The main results obtained from the data collected showed that both the teachers and the learners affirmed that the use of technology helps in improving the learners’ speaking performance and increase their motivation. Moreover, all the sample learners have at least one technological tool and subscribed to at least one chatting account which helps them interact with natives and for educational purposes. Accordingly, the researcher infers that the learners are effected by the use of technology and they prefer to learn speaking English via some modern methods such as the implementation of videos, computers, and so on.
