Abstract

"In this work we have dealt with a study of the most prominent rights that are granted to the working women under the Algerian legislation, working women in Algeria are given special attention and protection by the legislature, The Algerian legislature has sought to improve their status at work by establishing the principle of equality between the sexes in the workplace and ensuring that they are not subjected to any discrimination based on their gender, whether in their job position, career path or her ability to the benefit of social insurance. Legislature have also token in account the physiological differences between men and women because some tasks are beyond the women capacity, Therefore they have established special provision for them such as prohibiting night employment, This intended to ensure their safety and well being while also taking into account their role as mothers by giving them maternity leave to recover from childbirth and care for their children. Algeria has also complied with international law by ratifying agreements and treaties and adapting its human rights system to protect the rights of working women in accordance with international standards. The legislative authority did not limit itself to just this but rather established specialized agencies, including administrative and judicial to ensure respect for women s rights and how to activate their role in the workplace"
