Abstract

This study aims to identify the importance of innovation and its role in improving the performance of the enterprise. Also it was showed the basic concepts of innovation, its kinds, and its importance in the theoretical side. And for the practical side, the study was focused on Algerian Electricity and Gas Company (SONELGAZ) as a case study by using the interview and observation as tools for collecting information and data. The study concluded that there is an important role of innovation in improving the performance of the human resources; this is what led the institution to pay attention to training, creativity, talent support and modernization of information systems as a fundamental solution to the application of creative ideas
